Recently, I was in my craft room looking for some decorative ribbon for a project I was doing on a Mother’s Day gift idea, but I couldn’t find them because I had them all in a transparent box, some were rolled up, others in plastic bags, and some had already come undone, so I had a mess that made it impossible to find the ribbon I was looking for. So I said to myself… this has to be organized, and it has to be done now!
All the ribbons were mixed up with scraps of fabric, in short, it was a real mess.
And this is what I did to organize my decorative ribbons. I looked for some wooden sticks, the ones used to make ice cream sticks or for crafts, and I used them to organize the ribbons.
I secured them with pins. I used the ones that are natural in color, but you can also use the ones that can be found at Dollar Tree, which come in different colors, and organize your ribbons according to the color of the stick. (they are thinner, but they work just as well)
I used glass jars to store them and keep them accessible. If you don’t use your ribbons very often, I recommend a glass jar with a lid to prevent them from getting dusty.
I organized them more or less by color. I added a black chalkboard label to identify the jars with the word “cintas” which means ribbons.
It’s not necessary to organize them by color, as it’s a matter of personal preference since you can clearly see which ribbon it is just by looking at them.
I hope this idea helps you organize your ribbons. See you soon!
