To embark on this creative journey, I initially used a bath mat to serve as a mold for the beads, largely owing to its unique and interesting shape. However, if you don’t have a bath mat on hand, fear not; the beads can absolutely still be crafted directly onto a flat, smooth surface.

Before diving into the process, I would recommend applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the work area. This will act as a release agent, considerably simplifying the process of detaching your beads once they are formed.

Now, if you’re going to employ a bath mat as your mold—specifically the kind I featured in my video, which was a great find from Dollar Tree—I have a crucial piece of advice for you. Avoid letting the hot glue dry completely on the mat. You might think it’s counterintuitive, but doing so will make it quite challenging to remove your beads. Therefore, the opportune moment to detach them is when they’re almost but not entirely dry.
